List of class requests! Can you teach em? Basic Computer skills for organizing, Veteran's issues, history of lynching...etc
Hi Folks!
We have been getting requests for classes (and I'm sure there are many more then I am putting here). Also, many of these classes would be most effective if taught in a way that those learning could become teachers after going through the class (or perhaps a few additional extra sessions).
-Basic Computer Skills for Organizing (word, email, web searching, etc)
-Veteran's Issues/Veteran's stories: problems, being taught racism, etc
-Bicycle Mechanics (more of em!)
-How to inspire activism through the arts/perhaps include doing it, or writing/directing/hosting plays
-Breaking down large political/ideological concepts, particularly Marxism, Anarchism, etc
-Historical context of lynching in the US
Feel free to respond with more ideas, etc, and do contact us if you could teach some of these things...
Love!

We describe how science education partnerships composed of educational researchers, technologists, classroom teachers, natural scientists, and pedagogy experts can create effective instructional innovations using Internet technologies. We show 350-029 that our Scaffolded Knowledge Integration framework gives partnerships a head start on effective designs. We illustrate this process with the Deformed Frogs partnership and the Rats in Space partnership. We 70-686 conclude with suggestions for future partnerships. The authors appreciate the insights, enthusiasm, and good humor contributed by the members of the KIE projects and the Interactive University partnership. Special thanks to the children and teachers of our participating schools. Thanks also to Christina Kinnison, Cynthia Lou, Benjamin Liwnicz, and Carole 70-662 Strickland who helped with production of this manuscript. This material is based on research supported by grant NSF96-138, MDR 91-55744, and MDR 94-53861. I would love to take a Spanish class!! I work at Youth Farm and Market Project where many of the students and especially their parents speak spanish and I would love to be able to communicate with them. I studied for 2.5 years in high school and took one course at the Resource Center for the Americas about five years, and I can understand some spanish well enough to respond in english, but I forgot how to formulate sentences.

I'd be interested in both the screen printing class and the beginning instrument class.
I've got a little bit of experience tooling around with screen printing in my spare time, but I'd really like to learn the correct procedures from someone who's experienced. Screen printing can be a source of income, is an outlet of creativity, and can be used to print posters and t-shirts to help spread a message to the masses.

Is anyone up for teaching a basic ASL course? One of my classmates is Deaf and I'd love to learn more ASL.
Thanks,

Like learning how to play an instrument.
Beginners classes for Guitar players or something.
I would be interested in that.
I am extremely interested in taking this Web Dev class coming up in the next couple of weeks and am eager to learn more computer projects and would be interested in more computer classes as well.
Any sort of music classes would be interesting.
Recording..
How to listen..
MIDI
etc...
I would also LOVE to see someone teach a basic Spanish class...particularly if it could be in some way themed for those who want to do organizing!

Hola. I can probably teach a basic Spanish class. I have some advanced methods that have helped folks develop a very large vocabulary in a very short time. I have taught a few private classes with good results.
My style requires very little memorizing and almost no grammar. What i need to do is to formalize and systemize my approach a little more. With input from the group, this would be a great chance for us all to get what we seek.
Please let me know if you have enough interest to warrant a class. Thanks.
Peace to you,
Bruce Boettcher
I would certainly take a basic Spanish class, if you guys are still planning one.

It'd be amazing if you'd do that...if you're still interested please email me at dboehnke(at)gmail.com and we'll get you in this summer or fall, whichever you prefer!
Thanks so much...
