by James Park.

Over 60 pages are available on the Internet.
These 8 chapters will be available in class for $20
Or you can buy the complete book in the sixth edition, 2007, for $35.

James Park is an existential philosopher and the leader of this seminar.
A comprehensive course description appears here:
http://www.tc.umn.edu/~parkx032/D-NWL.html
.
The Facebook Page for the Experimental College
has pictures of both of the EXCO classes on love held so far,
spring and fall 2009.
As you will see in these pictures,
this EXCO class draws more women than men.

Class Time: each session is two hours.

Class Dates: to be arranged.

Place:

The fall 2009 class has now been completed.
But there is a virtual class discussed below.

Class size: This class had about 20 different people
when it was offered in spring 2009.
15 people attended the first meeting
of the fall 2009 offering.
These are good sizes for such a seminar.
Thus, even tho there are more than 100 people
who have expressed interest,
the next series of discussions
will probably have about 15 men and women.

This is not a lecture series.
The basic content is printed in the book.
Rather, we have maximum discussion
among the self-selected group of people who attend.

but you will need a copy of New Ways of Loving.
(4) 8 weeks to read and discuss.

during which he wrote and revised the book.
Most classes were in the Minnesota Free University.

REPORT ON THE FALL 2009 CLASS ON LOVE; FUTURE PLANS

New Ways of Loving held all five of its planned sessions.

The number of people attending was 15, 12, 10, 9, & 8 respectively.

Each session always included lively discussion.

A picture of most of the participants

now appears on the Facebook Page for EXCO.

Because we never had enough time to discuss each chapter,

these participants (and others anywhere in the world)

are invited to join an on-line discussion group,

which will explore one chapter each week

(instead of two chapters per week as in the face-to-face seminar).

A full explanation of this alternative appears here:

http://www.tc.umn.edu/~parkx032/ED-NWL.html.

Because only about 20% of the people interested

can actually attend the face-to-face class,

no matter where and when it meets,

this class will be offered again

when there are 200 people on the e-mailing list,

which will probably be about summer 2010.

Suggestions for a good time and place are welcome.

Perhaps you have a ready-made group

that would like to discuss New Ways of Loving.

The on-line experiment will probably begin in early 2010.

A Google Group has already been established

for discussing this book.

Write for more details.

If you have any suggestions or questions,
